Thoroughly enjoyable and worth while!!
I am so very pleased to have found this podcast. The selection of works is on point, more than a sampling of all that is good in storytelling, especially when it is grounded in a belief in a value-rich world and the aspirations of the human heart. The conversation between this thoroughly likable brother-sister team is never empty of meaning, and it is characterized by a true love for the works discussed and marvelously good humor—including, at times, contagious laughter. At the end of each episode, I am left with joy and expectation , ready to turn the page on a new discovery—for there is newness even when the stories are ones I have read. Bravo!

Wonderful Positive side of Literary Reviews
My buddy Dave told me to check out this podcast and I’m sure glad I did! I love the positive reviews of literary masterpieces that also give some background on the “why” some seemingly arbitrary details are important or at least how they made into the stories. I also appreciate the Jiu-Jitsu references in “BeoWulf”! Good stuff! Keep them coming!

My new favorite book hangout.
Listening to Good Stories with Jody and Stephen feels like sitting down with friends after finishing a good book; thoughtful takes, honest opinions, and just the right amount of banter. They make book reviews feel personal and fun, not stuffy or overthought. I’ve already added a few books to my list thanks to them. Easy listen, good vibes, and super relatable.

Well-named and welcome podcast!
I am loving these episodes and I really want the hosts to keep them coming! The “good stories” are eclectic but always interesting and revealing of some combination of the good, the true, and the beautiful. I like the interplay between the brother and sister hosts—they have a good mix of complementary approaches and strengths in discussing these stories. Many I already am acquainted with; others are happy discoveries.

Love it!
This podcast gives me the feeling of truly experiencing each of these stories even if haven’t read them yet. It is such a fun and accessible blend of books, myths, history, and even philosophy and I love how many different stories and concepts are linked together in every episode. Their enthusiasm for these stories is contagious as they talk and their love for the stories discussed is tangible. These episodes always make me smile and encourage me both to reflect and read more!

This podcast is a lovely place to become a reader of more thoughtful and inspiring stories. Jody and Stephen are great storytellers and relay just enough of the books to get you interested. A welcome contrast to the well worn and predictable podcast offerings.

Great Divorce greatly intriguing
Really appreciate how you’re able to articulate enough of a story that I haven’t read for many, many years (or in some cases never) that it’s comfortable to follow along, pondering insights and enjoying beauty and humor. Rekindles the desire to reread!
